A Lecture with Cayla Hill
May 18, 2019

1:00 – 2:30 pm

Champoeg Park Visitor Center
8239 Champoeg Rd. NE
St. Paul

In 1861, the town of Champoeg disappeared in one night. We know what happened from recorded stories of townspeople and artifacts found in archaeological digs. Visiting Professor of Archaeology at Willamette University, Cayla Hill, will join us for a lecture on the re-evaluation of the archaeological evidence. Currently, she is researching and analyzing a previously excavated archaeological collection from Block 4 within the Champoeg Townsite.

We've achieved state heritage area status. But gaining national recognition from Congress and the National Park Service requires hard work, persistence and a constant outreach and contact. That takes resources in time and money. Your gift counts! Please donate to help us continue our efforts.
