Fall Giving Update
This year, our main fundraising focus has been the renovation of West Linn’s Historic City Hall.
We have run a number of campaigns, including our Hot Dogs and Hard Hats Groundbreaking event in January when we officially kicked off construction at Historic City Hall and our Hats for Historic City Hall campaign where donors received a WFLAHC logo hat as a thanks for their donation!
As a reminder, the city hall project is in collaboration with the City of West Linn. The City will retain ownership and be in charge of maintaining the building. The Coalition will be the managing tenant and handle the daily operations of the renovated space.
Let’s Talk BIG GOALS!
Taking on the operations of a city building will expand our operational costs as well as create numerous opportunities for collaboration with partners around the region for lectures, exhibits, special events, and programming. In order to increase the capacity of our organization, we are still working towards a large goal of $1,000,000 to transform Historic City Hall into a thriving cultural community Center.
That $1,000,000 goal will fund technology like projectors and AV equipment for exhibits, exhibit design and implementation, furniture for our research library, earmarked money for targeted programming and special events, systems like on-demand scheduling software for our meeting rooms, and document/data storage for the organization. These are just some of the examples of the operational necessities for the building. Your donation to our Siobhan Loughran Taylor Fund goes directly to creating this community cultural center and leaving a lasting impact on current and future generations.
END-OF-YEAR GIVING
We are on our way toward reaching our million-dollar goal and have set a smaller, more focused goal that we hope to reach by the end of the year. We would love to receive a minimum of $1000 by the end of the year from our wonderful community of supporters to continue our development work on the operational plan. This money supports grant writing, and exhibit plan development, and will bring us closer to reaching our big $1,000,000 goal!
Thank you for your continued support of the Coalition. We can’t do our work without the generous support of our community. To make a tax-deductible donation today and learn more about our specific donation funds, please visit our donations page.
